One of the most difficult workplace realities:
Sometimes a narrative about you is forming —
without your awareness.
And once it solidifies, it can shape opportunities, feedback, and perception.
Example from my career
I’ve observed situations where professionals were labeled early —
as “difficult,” “quiet,” or “not ready.”
Not based on one event,
but based on a series of small, unchallenged interpretations.
Those narratives often go uncorrected unless someone actively repositions them.
Discussion
Have you ever realized that a narrative about you existed that you weren’t aware of?
