“Just focus on the feedback.”

But sometimes feedback and outcomes don’t match.

You’re told you’re doing well…
But opportunities don’t follow.

Or:

You receive criticism…
But no clear path to improve.

Example from my career

I’ve seen situations where employees received positive feedback but were passed over for opportunities.

Not because of performance —
but because of shifting priorities or internal alignment decisions.

That’s when it becomes clear:

Feedback is not always the full picture.
