Not all feedback is useful.

Some feedback is:

• vague
• inconsistent
• reactive
• tied to shifting expectations

And that can leave professionals questioning themselves unnecessarily.

Example from my career

In one environment, feedback would change depending on who provided it.

The same work would be praised one week and questioned the next.

That inconsistency wasn’t about performance —
it was about lack of alignment at the leadership level.

Discussion

What’s the most confusing feedback you’ve received in your career?
