Strategic silence can be powerful.

But silence without intention can sometimes be misinterpreted.

As:

• agreement
• disengagement
• lack of confidence

The difference is often timing and follow-up.

Example from my career

I’ve seen professionals choose not to speak in a meeting, intending to follow up later.

But without that follow-up, others interpreted their silence as agreement.

That’s when silence becomes risky instead of strategic.

Discussion

Have you ever stayed silent in a situation where you later realized it was misunderstood?
